    • Hi , and thanx for the question . Most of my horsehair pots and platters are Hawaiian red clay , so it is nice and red to start , they have all had terrasigilata (?) applied when green , and right after I have put horse hair or whatever I spray/mist the pot with ferric chloride , still at around 600 degrees . Be careful, the gas is an irritant and you must wear breathing apparatus and don’t get any mist on bare skin
