Finally

We have traveled across 6 states and two time changes in 6 days (there were times I felt like a wagon train ) to get to Lexington and see family . My daughter and her husband and two daughters live here . They found us a place to park the bus for our visit on a horse farm . It is so nice to spend time with family here in the bluegrass state

This morning sat oct 23 ,

Hiding out in Flagstaff

Hanging out in the tall cool pines north of flagstaff near snow bowl. I had the realization this morning that we have been here a week , and have had all the power necessary from batter bank and solar panels . It kind of flips me out , cause when we started this project I did not want to learn the solar , well , thanx to a friend and a guy on you tube named Will Prouse , I figured it out and it is working now for the 5 months we have been in bus pretty awesome if you ask me , I just wonder why I waited so long , living in Az and all ?

Another great sunset in Valle, AZ. We’re not there right now , thankfully as they got deluged yesterday, monsoons and all ,
Just updating , waiting around for the tooth fairy . This COVID thing has messed up some stuff , what the dentist said takes normally (pre COVID)45 days , we are now at 5 months . I’ve got some crazy karma around my teeth
Hoping to be on the road by the 1st of September, but I’ve been having my hopes dashed for a while , just gotta remember,
Acceptance is the answer
Peace out

Here we go again

Hanging in Williams , still waiting on dentures , seems they are so backlogged due to labor shortages . Who wants to go back to work ?

Working on the homestead here in Williams , kinda “chomping at the bit” to get traveling . I’m pretty sure most stuff has been worked out , so 4th of July we head to Colorado to soak in some hot springs

Visitors at the bus

Back in the desert

Moved back down to the desert outside Sedona , waiting for the dental work , in the meantime I got a major electric issue figured out with the help of a friend . I found that the wire from batteries to inverter was not large enough, increased to #2awg and I can run everything , space heater included .

It is nice to have had all the issues early on happen close to home , where it feels safe , we know people , and help is around the corner

And so it goes

Well , after two weeks in an rv park , we headed for the woods . Just came back from 2 weeks up by stoneman lake .thankfully we were close to help . We had the water line blow out on the on demand hot water heater . Learned that the first three feet coming out should be copper , not pex. Lesson learned . And we found that unless we pay attention , 100 gal of water can disappear quickly .

The solar is working awesome and I have some experiments to do with increasing wire size to inverter so maybe it will actually run something more than a water pic.

All in all fun is being had , learning the new ways of life , coming to really appreciate hot water and a shower . Been going woodsman for the past three weeks cause it was a little chilly up the hill , now we are down in some warmer weather and can lather up

Moving day

So , we have been field testing everything in an rv park for the last two weeks , while also waiting on so,e dental work ….. had to do some plumbing repairs , replace the propane regulator , practice emptying composting toilet , while Sheron has been getting used to the galley .

Today we head out to field test in the woods , headed to a spot called stoneman lake , up around 5000 ft where it will be a little cooler

Here is a pic of galley

Well, it’s been a while

So , I’ve been kinda sidetracked the last little bit and I’m going to try to be a bit more regular , since I’ve taken the leap and gone with full time cellular internet boosters and all .

We sold our house and we’re planning to move into bus and get her seaworthy , but the oil pump was being rebuilt piece by piece , so it was another 16 days before we got her back . And a trashed friendship .

So, we’ve been in the bus for almost three weeks , the last two in a rv park in camp verde az . Getting all the systems on order . Water is now all good , ac works when on generator or shore power had to replace the propane regulator and I’m getting used to the instant hot water thing for showers , we’ve been cooking and the fridge is keeping it cool on 95 degree days

Here are some pics , as we finally got it insured as a motor home today , and had to have film for them
